Cabo Verde Cretcheu returns once again to perform in this intimate setting with a full house of music lovers. We will be featuring Cape Verdean music from the Dilma's soul! The concert is indoors in a cozy and spacious living room. This is the wave of the future: house concerts! A fantastic trend that we have had the pleasure to be a part of and the hosts are always great music lovers and provide the perfect ambience for the artist to express and share their vision. The hosts of Casa Arjona Gloria and Javier are no exception to the rule. Not only are they wonderful people but also very talented musicians and artists with great taste, ideas and appreciation of the arts.

It sounds like the name of an exclusive dive somewhere downtown, but Casa Arjona basically means what it means. It's literally someone's house. A typical one-story middle-class Californian house with a driveway, a front yard, and about four feet of space to separate it from the neighbors. And it's called "Casa Arjona" because the people who live in it are the Arjonas... The un-remarkableness makes it all the more unforgettable. The Arjona's are a married couple who are carrying on the precious fading tradition of performing in your own backyard. It puts jazz or, more specifically, Latin jazz, back into its intimate settings. Miles Davis and Gerry Mulligan rehearsed in each other's rundown apartments and emerged with what came to be known as cool jazz.... Well, maybe that's a bit of an exaggeration, but the point remains... A lawn can only hold so many people, so RSVPing is advised. There is no cover charge; however, it is best not to go empty-handed.
