Private Lessons - Clinics, band coaching and lessons through Skype
I teach privately at my apartment/studio in West Toluca Lake, I am also available to provide lessons online world-wide through the Skype video conferencing software. I offer clinics and work with bands as a coach. I have extensive experience offering private lessons and for 10 years through the University of Colorado Boulder and Naropa institute in Boulder CO.
My teaching guitar is focused in the Jazz and Brazilian genres with an strong emphasis on understanding playing in the groove and feel, soloing, chord soloing and syncopated rhythm section concepts and approach. I also teach beginning guitar, blues, pop and many other world music styles.
I teach singing in Portuguese and Cape Verdean Creole. The focus here is learning the correct rhythmic language, phrasing and accent. I am fluent in Portuguese and have a working knowledge of Creole.
Lessons are also available to all other instruments and to share my music experience, knowledge, theories in rhythm section playing or jazz improvisation. I can also work with your band in a rehearsal to coach on how to achieve a cohesive and tight sound.
